As much as I love my work – and the wide variety of hot guys I get to fuck for fun and profit – I’ve never been so bold as to imagine that being a Las Vegas call bear would lead to any kind of award.  Trust me:  I’ve done my best to spread world peace by shooting my load into mouths of all races and pounding asses from every corner of the globe.  But for better or worse, the Nobel Committee uses more high-minded criteria for their nominations.

So imagine my surprise when I updated my listing on Rentboy.com (www.Rentboy.com/rustymcmann) and discovered that the categories for the site’s 2010 International Escort Awards include “Best Mature Escort 40+”.   “Damn!” I thought, “I actually qualify for that!   I could realistically get a nomination!!” 

Now in their 4th year, “The Hookies” have up until now focused on the core elements of the male-male side of the oldest profession with categories like “Best Top” “Best Bottom” and that all-time favorite “Biggest Cock.”  But times change.   “In this year’s awards,” explains Rentboy spokesman Sean Van Sant, “we want to bring attention to the fact that there are so many different types of male escorts and different ways to be sexy.”

As most guys on either side of the play-for-pay equation will tell you, an escort usually provides more than a quick blowjob between two parked 18-wheelers (not that there’s ANYTHING wrong with that!!!).  Men who hire escorts from online ads are generally looking for something more personal and intimate.  Sure, I’ve been with plenty of guys who jump out of bed with the first contraction of orgasm and shove money in my hand while pushing me out the door without so much as a shower.  But far more often than not my clients enjoy laying together with our arms and legs entwined in the twisted sheets while we catch our breath and the cum starts to dry in somebody’s matted chest hair.

Which goes a long way toward explaining why the escort market is not just limited to smooth-skinned 19-year-olds with no body fat. “When people think of escorts, Van Sant continues, “they tend to think of young porn stars or twink boys, or musclemen with perfect bodies. Or they think that escorts burn out a young age.  But gay men are aging better than ever and there are a lot of gorgeous handsome older men. Some of them are long-time escorts, but there are also men who come into their own sex appeal later in life, and they try out escorting for the first time in their late 30s or 40s.” As one my most loyal clients puts it, “If I’m going to hire an escort, he’s going to be a guy who fits my idea of masculinity.  And that includes a sexual self-confidence that’s been earned through experience and leaves me feeling very well taken care of.”

Rentboy is currently collecting nominations from all of its 1400 listings (including mine:  hint, hint). “Nominations are accepted from anyone who logs on to a Rentboy.com escort profile,” says Van Sant, “whether you are a satisfied customer or an admirer.”  Finalists will be announced in late January, and the awardees will be announced in New York City
on March 18th.
